Honoring outstanding students in the Nguyen dynasty's traditional ceremony of announcing successful candidates

Three hundred eighty-five exemplary students were honored in the traditional ceremony of announcing successful candidates, re-enacting the Nguyen dynasty's ritual of recognizing those who passed examinations.

On the morning of 29/8, a ceremony was held at Ngo Mon Square to honor "honor students" from local schools. This marked the first time the event took place at this historic site.

Le Tri Thanh, Chairman of TP Hue, attended the ceremony wearing a blue ao dai and traditional headwear. The participating students also wore traditional ao dai. Among the 385 students recognized, 40 were from high school, 133 from junior high school, and the remainder from primary school.

According to city leaders, combining the commendation ceremony with the "truyen lo" ritual at a historical monument helps connect the ancestral tradition of valuing learning and talent with the achievements of the younger generation. The event also represents a new approach to integrating heritage into community activities, transforming structures historically linked to the Nguyen dynasty into a visual educational space for students.

Chairman Thanh urged the students to maintain their passion for learning and inquisitive spirit. He encouraged them to courageously innovate, dare to dream, and conquer ambitious goals. He emphasized that continuous self-improvement is not only for academic excellence but also for living with ideals, responsibility, and knowing how to love, share, and help others.

In the past academic year, 90 students from TP Hue won national outstanding student awards, including 4 first prizes. Five students advanced to the selection round for international Olympic teams. The average scores in high school graduation exams for the locality ranked 8th out of 34 provinces and cities.
