The Quality Management Department of the Ministry of Education and Training released a list showing that approximately 2,500 programs from 192 institutions meet domestic quality standards.
The remaining programs, offered by 66 universities, achieved accreditation from international organizations, including: AUN-QA (ASEAN University Network - Quality Assurance), HCERES (High Council for the Evaluation of Research and Higher Education, France), ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, US), and FIBAA (Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation).
The government's tuition fee decree sets the maximum monthly amount for the 2026-2027 academic year between 1,71 million and 3,5 million dong for non-autonomous public universities. Autonomous institutions, based on their independence level, can charge 2 to 2,5 times this cap.
Universities with accredited programs can independently set their tuition fees.

Beyond the individual programs, the Ministry also updated a list of 17 universities holding international accreditation, a number consistent with last year. Domestically, 206 universities and 12 pedagogical colleges have met local accreditation standards.
The Law on Higher Education mandates periodic accreditation to ensure and improve higher education quality. Institutions select an accreditation body from a licensed list, which includes 13 international and 8 domestic organizations. Each body uses distinct evaluation criteria, weighting, and costs.
Approximately 240 higher education institutions operate nationwide. While most universities offer dozens of training programs, some provide hundreds. The number of accredited programs, authorized to charge tuition fees above the government cap, consistently increases each year.
