According to St Headline on 17/4, Phan Hoanh Ban's family held a private funeral, with the news of his passing only recently announced. His relatives did not disclose the cause of the actor's death. The film industry will commemorate Phan Hoanh Ban, along with artists Luong Tieu Long and Vien Tuong Nhan, at the Kim Tuong Film Awards on 19/4.

Born in 1962, Phan Hoanh Ban joined TVB's acting training class in 1981, alongside Luu Duc Hoa and Luong Gia Huy. He and Luu Duc Hoa were close friends and roommates. Their bond was so strong that rumors once suggested they were a couple, though Luu Duc Hoa denied it.
Phan Hoanh Ban and Luu Duc Hoa co-starred in several films, including "Hunting Eagle" (1982) and "The Return of the Condor Heroes" (1983), where Phan Hoanh Ban played Quach Pha Lo and Luu Duc Hoa played Duong Qua.

He also participated in many other famous TVB productions such as "The Duke of Mount Deer" (1984) as On Huu Dao, "The New Recruit", "Bao Chi Lam", "La Tu Nuong", "The Yang's Saga", and "The Grand Hong Kong". In 1988, the artist played Duong Khang in "The Legend of the Condor Heroes", produced by a Taiwan film studio. His last film was "May We Chat", released in 2014.
From the 2000s, Phan Hoanh Ban gradually withdrew from the screen, transitioning into real estate. Towards the end of his life, he did not appear at entertainment events and maintained a private personal life. He and Luu Duc Hoa were no longer as close as they were in their youth. When asked if he regretted his friendship with Luu Duc Hoa, Phan Hoanh Ban once replied: "Why regret it? Friends don't necessarily need to meet every day. A friend for a day is a friend for life."
