Singer Anh Quan Idol has released "Vietnam, a heroic anthem," a new music video composed by Tu Dua, to pay tribute to the generations who sacrificed for the nation's peace. The singer stated his desire to refresh his image and step out of his comfort zone after years of performing love ballads. However, the production process was challenging. Tu Dua initially rejected Anh Quan's first recording, finding it unsatisfactory.
Anh Quan spent many days practicing and refining his vocal delivery under the guidance of his senior colleague. He described this as a significant challenge, acknowledging his limited life experience made it difficult to fully convey the song's spirit. He focused on channeling sincere emotions into his performance.
Tu Dua composed the song in 2018, following Vietnam's victory in the AFF Cup. The atmosphere of national pride, combined with reflections on the nation's past, present, and future, inspired his creation. After years of searching for a suitable voice, he entrusted the song to Anh Quan Idol. "When Anh Quan shared that his father was a war invalid who fought in the resistance war against America, I believed the singer could truly express the emotions of the song," the musician said.
Musician Thanh Binh arranged the track, blending symphonic and rock elements in a restrained manner, avoiding an overly grand production. This approach allowed the song to maintain its depth while building emotional crescendos that suited Anh Quan's vocal style.

Singer Tung Duong remarked, "I perceive this not as a grandiose political anthem, but as a profound love song for the country. Anh Quan Idol successfully conveyed a lyrical quality that suits the composition. If it were me, I might have sung it with more intensity."
The music video, directed by Hai Nguyen, was filmed at the Vietnam Military History Museum. Actress Bich Thuy portrays a mother who lost loved ones in the war, searching for familiar figures amidst historical memories. The director chose not to feature famous faces in the MV to evoke a sense of authenticity. Through this, the team aimed to honor the anonymous individuals who quietly sacrificed for the country.
Anh Quan Idol, 38, studied vocal music at the National Academy of Music of Vietnam. In 2012, he gained attention on Vietnam Idol, reaching the top 7. He later moved to Singapore to perform in clubs to support his family. In 2015, he returned to Vietnam to continue his career. His hits include "Co anh o day roi" and "Qua khu." The song "E la khong the," composed by Dong Thien Duc and performed by Anh Quan Idol, has garnered over 100 million views on YouTube, becoming a recent phenomenon with numerous cover versions.
Musician Tu Dua, 47, was part of the band Qua Dua Hau from 1998 to 2000. After the band disbanded, his singing career became relatively quiet. In 2010, he moved to TP HCM to build his career, developing as both a composer and performer. He achieved success as a songwriter and producer with songs like "Nam lay tay anh," "Anh nho em" (Tuan Hung), "Giu lai hanh phuc" (Thu Phuong), and "Duyen minh lo" (Huong Tram). Recently, he reunited with the other two members of Qua Dua Hau, Bang Kieu and Tuan Hung, to produce several music videos and organize group concerts.
