The organization holding the license to send Vietnamese contestants to Miss International announced on the evening of 22/4 that Khanh Nhu was chosen to represent the country, citing her suitability for the competition's criteria. Earlier, several other candidates were considered, including Miss Y Nhi and runner-ups Phuong Thanh, Cam Ly, and Truong Tam Nhu.
Khanh Nhu's selection for the international stage comes about one month after she secured the first runner-up title at Miss World Vietnam 2025. Expressing her readiness, Khanh Nhu stated, "I will strive to continue the success of my predecessors and bring pride to our fans."

Khanh Nhu has approximately half a year to refine her knowledge, catwalk skills, public speaking, and community project. She will also work with various designers to prepare her wardrobe.
Hailing from Khanh Hoa, Khanh Nhu is a final-year student at the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City. Her parents operate a small eatery in an alley in her hometown. Her elder brother is married and resides in Ho Chi Minh City.
Khanh Nhu possesses a radiant face and a sweet smile. She stands 1.69 m tall, weighs 53 kg, and measures 85-59-95 cm. She also works as a bilingual English-Vietnamese MC. During Miss World Vietnam 2025, judges commended her confidence, leading her to win the "Confident Beauty" special award.
The 64th edition of Miss International is scheduled for November in Japan, gathering dozens of contestants globally. Reigning queen Catalina Duque, from Colombia, will crown her successor.
Miss International stands as one of the world's three major beauty pageants, alongside Miss World and Miss Universe. Established in 1960, it is held annually in Japan, fostering friendship and cultural exchange among nations. The current titleholder, from Colombia, will crown the next winner.
Vietnam's best performance at this pageant was Huynh Thi Thanh Thuy, who was crowned Miss International in 2024. Other notable Vietnamese contestants include Thuy Van, who placed as third runner-up in 2015; Tuong San, who reached the top 8 in 2019; and Phuong Nhi, who made it to the top 15 in 2020. In 2025, Miss Kieu Duy competed but did not advance to the later stages.
