According to Dahao News, the artist prepared for his passing to avoid disputes. He held ownership of properties, stocks, and copyrights to artworks, with a total value exceeding 100 million HKD (12,7 million USD).
According to his will, 90% of Ta Hien's assets were bequeathed to his two grandsons, Lucas, 19, and Quintus, 16. The remaining portion was divided equally between his two children, Ta Dinh Phong and Ta Dinh Dinh.

Sources indicated that Ta Hien made this distribution because he felt his children had good jobs and stable incomes, not requiring his financial assistance. The artist felt regretful that Lucas and Quintus grew up in an incomplete family, having lived with their mother since childhood.
According to On, Ta Hien commented that Truong Ba Chi raised their children well, and he felt at ease knowing his grandsons grew up with their mother. In a reality show aired early this year, actress Luu Gia Linh — a close friend of the Ta Hien family — also revealed that Mrs. Dich Ba Lap, Ta Dinh Phong's mother, often praised her former daughter-in-law for her parenting skills.
On 20/7, Ta Dinh Phong announced his father's passing, without disclosing specific details about the artist's final days. In May, Ta Hien was seen by some fans using a wheelchair to go for coffee. The actor cheerfully accepted requests for autographs from fans. For over 5 years, the artist had lived in seclusion, not participating in any events. Some sources said Ta Hien had suffered a stroke, but the family did not respond.
Ta Dinh Phong hoped fans would not be overly saddened when remembering the character Long Tu or his father. "Because if so, my father would not feel at peace," Dinh Phong wrote. He hoped his father's charming demeanor and constant smile would remain in the fans' minds.
Truong Ba Chi has not yet commented on Ta Hien's passing but changed her Weibo profile picture to a black background.
