The property was built by Trong Tan and his wife a few years ago, serving as a weekend retreat and a place to host friends. Its design features a rustic style, primarily using wood and natural stone. The living room and kitchen spaces have a vintage feel with dark-toned furniture, creating a cozy atmosphere.

Having grown up close to nature and developed an early love for gardening, he dedicated much of the property's space to the garden when designing the house. He stated: "Coming from a rural area, my true nature and soul remain that of a farmer. I cannot live without nature; there must always be trees and birds around me."

The area around the main house is adorned with ancient rose bushes, camellias, and lilies. The garden itself yields various fruits, including apples, rose apples, canistel, wampee, passion fruit, peaches, strawberries, and loquats. Sim trees bloom vibrantly in summer. Organically, he and his wife cultivate pumpkins, long beans, tomatoes, and cucumbers, eschewing pesticides. When a cabbage patch faced significant pest damage, the singer chose manual removal over chemical treatments. Trong Tan also grows butterfly pea flowers, which he dries for tea.

On weekdays, the singer and his wife reside in the inner city. On weekends, he spends time at the garden house, strolling around and harvesting vegetables and fruits. Afterwards, he and his wife enjoy tea and fresh fruit. Many bird species, such as sunbirds and warblers, frequently visit his garden to nest and hatch eggs.

In addition to the suburban garden house, the singer also built a home for his parents in Thanh Hoa over 10 years ago. There, his parents raise chickens and fish, and tend to a garden. Each time he visits his hometown, Trong Tan takes the opportunity to relax by fishing, feeding chickens, collecting eggs, and picking apples.

Trong Tan, 50, rose to fame after winning first prize at Sao Mai 1999. He is associated with patriotic and revolutionary songs such as Tieng dan bau (Nguyen Dinh Phuc), Tinh ta bien bac dong xanh (Hoang Song Huong), and Noi dao xa (The Song). The singer forms a harmonious duet with Anh Tho and is also part of the "nhac do" trio with Dang Duong and Viet Hoan. His wife, Thanh Hoa, a childhood friend, consistently supports him in his career. His son, Tan Dat, 22, is following in his father's footsteps, having won second prize at Giong hat hay Ha Noi in 2025.
