Yu accused Cheung of failing to fulfill the agreement, expressing disappointment in the actress and criticizing her for being "ungrateful and cutting ties after crossing the bridge" (a Vietnamese idiom meaning to abandon someone after they've served their purpose). Yu Yuk Hing demanded Cheung compensate him nearly 13 million HKD (44 billion VND).
In court, Cheung stated that in 2014, Yu created fake documents and unilaterally used her name as manager to sign contracts with other companies without her consultation. The actress also denied that Yu Yuk Hing had ever been her manager.
According to Cheung, during their collaboration, Yu Yuk Hing repeatedly threatened to "destroy her career" if she did not comply. In court, Cheung sometimes became emotional, her voice choked, as she recounted being young at the time and fearing "having to retire at 18" if Yu Yuk Hing intended to harm her.
The conflict between Cheung and Yu Yuk Hing has spanned many years. Yu once posted a song on social media attacking Cheung, with lyrics such as: "I know you are not innocent, everyone avoids you. I know you act well, with a dark past, yet I still believed your vows."
Cheung entered the entertainment industry in 1999 with the film *King of Comedy*, starring alongside Stephen Chow. She is also known for *The Lion Roars*, *Cat and Mouse*, and *Fly Me to Polaris*.

In 2018, she gave birth to a third son, keeping the father's identity private. According to Nextmedia, the boy carries his mother's surname, and Cheung left the 'Father' section blank on his birth certificate. After giving birth, Cheung primarily developed her career in mainland China, becoming popular for TV shows and commercials.
