Quan Truong, known online as Con Co Day, was recognized as the "breakthrough content creator" at the Vietnam iContent Awards 2025. Hailing from Hanoi and a graduate of Hanoi National University of Education with a degree in cultural management, Truong transitioned from marketing and communications to become a celebrated digital content creator.
The nickname "Con Co Day" originated from "Co," a childhood moniker given by relatives due to his thin build. Initially, Truong focused on food reviews before expanding into entertainment content.
To further his career, Truong moved south. Feeling a longing for his mother's guidance and scolding while away from home, he began collaborating with close friends to produce humorous videos. These videos depict family life, everyday stories, and mother-child dialogues. Shot primarily at home, they adopt a relatable style, such as a mother teaching her child or going shopping. His strong acting skills, ability to embody various roles, and creative costume changes quickly propelled his videos to trending status, garnering millions to tens of millions of views.
Truong's video production is not resource-intensive, primarily requiring time for idea generation, filming, and editing. During his performances, he draws inspiration from his grandmother, mother, or memories of other women he has encountered, imitating their distinct personalities. He has stated that the series aims to offer viewers diverse perspectives, fostering greater understanding and love for their own mothers.
After eight years in content creation, he has amassed over 1.4 million followers across digital platforms, consistently producing around 20 videos each month.
