On 31/5, an in-person fan meeting for actor Zhang Linghe in Nanning was canceled after an overwhelming crowd of fans pushed through and shattered a glass entrance door at a local shopping center. The event, a collaboration between a brand and the actor's team, saw many people gather before Zhang Linghe's scheduled appearance, leading to the incident. Jimu News reported that some individuals sustained minor injuries.
To ensure public order and safety, event organizers promptly canceled the direct fan interaction, transitioning it to an online format. The brand involved urged attendees to avoid crowding or gathering while waiting for the idol's appearance.
Following the unforeseen change, Zhang Linghe's management company issued an apology letter to his fans. A representative conveyed the actor's initial excitement for his first Nanning event and his appreciation for fans who traveled from other provinces to meet him. Prioritizing fan safety, Zhang Linghe reluctantly agreed to cancel the live interaction. His team stated, "Everyone came here happy and excited but ultimately left disappointed. Our feelings are the same as yours".

Both the management company and Zhang Linghe personally pledged to compensate fans who incurred expenses traveling to Nanning for the event, covering transportation and hotel costs. The organizing brand acknowledged its organizational shortcomings, admitting a loss of control that compromised safety. They arranged for injured individuals to receive medical attention and extended apologies to both fans and Zhang Linghe.
Zhang Linghe, 29, has become a prominent figure in Chinese entertainment, known for his roles in popular dramas such as "Love Between Fairy and Devil", "My Journey to You", "Tiger and Crane", and "Story of Kunning Palace". His popularity surged in the first half of this year, driven by the success of the historical drama "Truc ngoc".
