Former beauties grace the runway in Lanh My A ao dai

Actors Trinh Kim Chi, Hien Mai, Ly Huong, and a host of stars walked the runway in stylized ao dai crafted from Lanh My A silk.

Former actor Ly Huong wore an ao dai with a striking emphasis on the sleeves. The beauty gained public affection through numerous acting roles. In recent years, Ly Huong has been less active in showbiz but occasionally attends events for close friends.

Designer Vo Viet Chung introduced his new collections at an event celebrating 30 years in the fashion industry on the evening of december 22.

People's Artist Trinh Kim Chi served as the vedette for the Lanh My A - Belle of Cochinchina collection, honoring the material considered a "treasure" from the Tan Chau, An Giang region.

MC and singer Quynh Hoa walked the runway in an ao dai featuring prominent embroidered floral patterns. She was a notable member of the Huong Phu Sa music group, popular in the 2000s.

The designer incorporated a haute couture spirit, evident in the unconventional silhouettes and intricate hand-cut and embroidered details. Trinh Kim Chi, 54 years old, wore a design with layered ruffles. The beauty shared that she felt nervous returning to the fashion runway after a long absence.

Trinh Kim Chi was crowned second runner-up at Miss Vietnam 1994. Before transitioning to acting, she was a sought-after model for photoshoots and fashion shows.

Ngoc Nga was a prominent figure from the "golden generation" of the fashion industry in the 2000s, alongside Xuan Lan and Duong Yen Ngoc.

Actor Hien Mai, 58 years old, showcased a cape-style outfit.

two decades ago, Hien Mai was known as the "Calendar Photo Beauty" by audiences, admired for her charming face and tall stature. Returning to the runway with her colleagues, she felt as though she had revisited her youth and relived cherished memories.

Hien Mai's two runway appearances at the show.

thirty designs shared a common theme: a blend of vibrant colors such as blue, pink, purple, red, and yellow.

Vo Viet Chung primarily used silk, combining it with chiffon capes and raw silk.

The floral and bird motifs on the garments were meticulously crafted by the designer using entirely handmade embroidery, painting, cutting, and embellishment techniques.

Miss Ocean Vietnam 2025 Nguyen Thanh Thao concluded the collection presentation.

Models paired the outfits with pearl earrings and gemstone necklaces.

Lanh My A silk is woven and dyed entirely by hand using mac nua fruit, creating a material with a distinctive glossy black hue, smooth, cool, and durable surface. At one point, this fabric faced the risk of fading into obscurity. In the early 2000s, Vo Viet Chung researched and reintroduced Lanh My A through domestic and international fashion shows. In 2007, he was honored by UNESCO for his contributions to restoring the silk and preserving Vietnamese cultural values through the ao dai.

The artists also presented the Peacock Flower collection, featuring vibrant colors. This marked the first time Vo Viet Chung incorporated the peacock motif into his designs, symbolizing prosperity and abundance.
