Huong Giang: 'Ready to conquer miss grand international'

Miss Huong Giang says she is returning to the international beauty pageant stage at miss grand international all stars with a spirit of embracing innovation and breaking new ground.

Huong Giang arrived in Thailand on 17/5, wearing a cut-out dress by designer 9192 and a short hairstyle. Upon her appearance at the hotel lobby, fans displayed flags, prepared props, and even hired a private band to energize the atmosphere and cheer on the beauty queen.

Later, she changed outfits for photo and video shoots with the organizers and sponsors. Backstage, Huong Giang interacted with other contestants and met Nawat, the Chairman of Miss Grand International. The Vietnamese contestant's activities garnered significant interaction from international fans on various forums.

"I am ready for everything and maintaining a comfortable mindset as I enter the competition," Huong Giang stated. According to the beauty queen, her return to the international beauty pageant stage, after not winning a title at the Miss Universe 74th edition in late 2025, is not for revenge. Instead, she aims to showcase her newness and inspire audiences.

Information about Huong Giang competing in the first season of Miss Grand International All Stars was announced by the organizers in January. Many beauty websites have placed her among the prominent contenders. In the first prediction chart on 15/5, Missosology selected Huong Giang as the potential winner, based on her appeal.

The beauty queen also topped the "All Stars: World Famous" poll on the competition's official platform. The top 3 will receive special privileges: a solo appearance at the launch event and an intimate dinner with the Chairman of Miss Grand International. Additionally, Huong Giang's self-introduction video led in views, reaching 2 million views and tens of thousands of interactions from domestic and international fans within one day of its upload. Previously, Gazini Ganados from the Philippines held this position.

In the video, Huong Giang reflected on her 15-year journey in showbiz, taking on various roles including singer, actress, model, and reality show producer. She joined the competition believing that Miss Grand International not only seeks a beauty queen but also someone who can expand their personal influence across many fields, while also bringing practical value to society.

Huong Giang has been preparing for weeks, collaborating with designers on outfits, and refining her physique, catwalk skills, and foreign language abilities. She assesses this season's competition as featuring many contestants with notable beauty and experience. "I prioritize a learning spirit over competitiveness to avoid self-imposed pressure," Huong Giang shared.

On 16/5, she sought good fortune at a famous site in Thailand. Valentin Tran, former chairman of Miss Universe Vietnam, accompanied Huong Giang on the trip. "I believe her talent and perseverance will win everyone over," he commented.

The atmosphere as fans welcomed Huong Giang.

Contestants from around the world have begun arriving in Thailand for the initial stage of the competition. A welcome event is scheduled for 19/5, followed by various preliminary rounds. The competition will feature 58 contestants and run from 16-30/5 in Thailand. Most contestants are familiar to fans, having previously competed in other pageants such as Miss Universe and Miss International.

Early in May, Sthefany Gutierrez of Venezuela, who was the runner-up 2 at Miss Universe 2018, unexpectedly withdrew, much to the regret of fans. She had generated significant buzz across forums after her profile was announced by the organizers and was ranked as the number one contender for the crown by beauty websites. Her compatriot, Gabriela De La Cruz, who was the runner-up 4 at Miss Supranational 2019, replaced her.

Nguyen Huong Giang, 34 years old, from Hanoi, first gained public attention after reaching the top 4 of Vietnam Idol 2012. In 2018, she was crowned Miss International Queen in Thailand. She boasts the largest fan base on Instagram, with 4,1 million followers.

The All Stars version is part of the Miss Grand International system, announced by Chairman Nawat in late 2025. This competition is distinct from the original version, allowing contestants to register freely without needing to go through national MGI license holders. Beauties who have previously participated in international pageants have the opportunity to compete. The competition is open to trans women, married women, and mothers. More than one contestant can participate from each country.
