The wide, flared skirt was printed with images of Messi from various stages of his career. Previously, during the filming of the competition segment on 2/9, she had not worn this design.

The gown was created by Aurelio Martinez, a designer with extensive experience in beauty pageant costumes. The design quickly garnered attention on beauty forums. Many viewers believed Messi's image helped the contestant make a strong impression. Some commented: "Just by looking at the dress, you know which country she's from", "Messi has inspired many Argentinians".

Alina, 27 years old and 1,76 m tall, works as a TV presenter, actress, writer, and public speaking coach. She was previously praised by the judges for her educational project promoting healthy play for children, exchanging toy weapons for safe toys. She collected over 1,200 items in Argentina and repurposed them into chairs for the Cordoba Children's Hospital.

She previously competed in Miss Universe 2020, reaching the top 21. During that competition, she wore a T-shirt featuring Maradona during the national costume segment. On Instagram, Alina Luz Akselrad posted a video of the segment, quoting the legendary player's famous words: "I ask you to please let me live my own life. I never wanted to be an idol".

The beauty queen stated that Maradona inspired her life. Alina Luz Akselrad chose sports attire to showcase her home country's football culture, which has united its people for many years.

Joheirry Mola Dominguez, a 24-year-old beauty queen from the Dominican Republic, was crowned Miss World's 73rd winner in a final held for the first time in Vietnam. The first runner-up was Elisabeth Reynes Alabern, 22, from Spain. The second runner-up title went to Taanusiya Chetty, 26, from Malaysia. The remaining beauties in the top 6 included Bao Ngoc, Snit Habteab Tewoldemedhin (Eritrea), and Romanda Hombir (South Africa).
