Gabrielle Henry is expected to continue her treatment at a hospital in the capital city of Kingston. She will undergo physical therapy and regular health check-ups under the supervision of neurologists and other specialists. Although Gabrielle is not yet fully recovered, international media and fans consider her discharge good news.
The accident occurred during the evening gown segment of the semi-finals on the evening of 19/11/2024 in Bangkok. While walking across the stage, Gabrielle Henry missed a step and fell from a platform to the floor. The crew and medical personnel quickly responded, transporting her by stretcher to the hospital.
A few days later, Miss Universe Jamaica representatives announced that she had been admitted to the intensive care unit due to an unstable condition. On 9/12/2024, the Miss Universe Organization (MUO) released her medical report for the first time, stating that the fall caused a brain hemorrhage leading to loss of consciousness, bone fractures, facial lacerations, and other injuries.
According to the statement, MUO covered all treatment costs during Miss Jamaica's hospitalization in Thailand and supported living expenses for Gabrielle's mother and sister while they were there to care for her. The organizers also sponsored her repatriation flight, which included a medical team, and committed to covering any future treatment costs.
