On 29/12/2025, Khosbayar, a 27-year-old Mongolian man, formally proposed to Bao Ngoc, a 25-year-old woman from Khanh Hoa, Vietnam. He presented 12 betrothal gift trays, with 6 following Vietnamese customs and 6 adhering to Mongolian traditions. This unique blend of traditions, particularly the distinctive Mongolian nomadic dress worn by the groom, quickly became a social media sensation, garnering thousands of views.
Photos and videos shared by the bride resonated widely across social media platforms. "Many Vietnamese marry people from the UK, the US, China, Japan, or Africa, but this is the first time I've seen someone marry a Mongolian," commented social media user Pham Thanh Lich.

The Mongolian wedding hat is tall, with a peak symbolizing Tengri (eternal sky), the supreme deity in Mongolian belief. A white silk scarf at the back of the hat, resembling horse milk, conveys wishes for abundant descendants. Tassels hanging on both sides of the cheeks offer protection and ward off evil spirits. |

According to Mongolian custom, the groom offered a scarf and a cup of cow's milk to the bride's parents to ask for their permission to marry. During the engagement ceremony, the groom's family presented betrothal gifts including gold and cash. |

Bao Ngoc and Khosbayar first met in 2021 while studying abroad in Japan. In 8/2024, Ngoc visited Khosbayar's family in Mongolia. After 4 years of courtship, they decided to commit to a lifelong union.
