In the finale on 11/5, Hannah Harper became the second female country artist to win the top prize, following Carrie Underwood in 2005. Underwood was also one of the three judges this year, alongside Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie.
Harper's two remaining competitors - Jordan McCullough and Keyla Richardson - were awarded runner-up and third place, respectively. Following the results announcement, she performed Chris Tomlin's "At The Cross (Love Ran Red)" to celebrate her victory. On instagram that same day, singer Luke Bryan posted a congratulatory message to Harper: "Right from the start, I knew you would make us proud".
According to People, Hannah Harper impressed judges during her audition in 2/2026. She performed a self-written song about her struggle with postpartum depression and her love for her children. The song, titled "String Cheese", moved singer Carrie Underwood. The artist stated: "You might be my favorite out of all the contestants who have walked through that door these three days. I'm rooting for you all the way".
After the contestants' performances were re-uploaded to YouTube, many viewers commented on Harper's emotional voice, noting its suitability for the country genre. They also expressed their fondness for her original composition, admitting they cried because they felt the struggles of motherhood. Many expressed anticipation for Harper's future performances and new album.
In an interview with USA Today following her victory, Hannah Harper thanked her family for their support. She expressed gratitude to her husband, Devon Mendenhall, for sacrificing his career to help her pursue her dream and for taking care of their children. The two married in 2018 and currently have three sons.
