Shakira shared an excerpt of the song, a collaboration with famous Nigerian singer and music producer Burna Boy, on her personal page. "From Maracana stadium, this is Dai Dai, the official song of the FIFA World Cup 2026," she wrote.
The video shows Shakira on Brazil's Maracana field, performing with dancers. She sings in English: "Here in this place. You belong". Burna Boy harmonizes with her: "What broke you once. Made you strong". Later, she sings in Spanish.
Shakira's post garnered significant fan support. Fans commented: "When football anthems were becoming dull, Shakira returned and saved everything", "This is the lively melody we want to hear at the World Cup". Previously, FIFA's initial World Cup song, "Lighter", faced criticism for being dull and lifeless.

Shakira earned the title "queen of World Cup music" through her hits "Hips Don't Lie (Bamboo)" and "Waka Waka". "Waka Waka", the official song of the 2010 tournament, stands as the best-selling World Cup single in history, with over 10 million copies sold and 4,5 billion views on YouTube. The "Waka Waka" dance also sparked a global flashmob craze. According to NBC, the "Zamina mina" chorus is a remix of "Zangalewa" (1986), a military song by Cameroon's Golden Sounds. Despite initial copyright disputes, the track was eventually settled and became an iconic symbol of the tournament.
