In the 2000s, alongside Mat Ngoc, May Trang was a girl group widely loved by audiences, becoming a cherished part of the youth memories for the 8x and 9x generations. Pictured from left to right are Thu Ngoc, Ngoc Chau, Yen Nhi, and Yen Trang. This lineup was considered the group's most successful after several member changes.
May Trang debuted in 6/2000 with Thu Ngoc, Ngoc Chau, Anh Thuy, Yen Trang, and Thu Thuy. In 2001, Anh Thuy left the group, and Yen Nhi, Yen Trang's younger sister, joined. One year later, Thu Thuy departed May Trang to join H.A.T. The remaining four members continued to perform, making their mark with a series of hit songs including "Tham mong anh quay ve ben em", "Co chac anh da yeu", and "Ghet anh".

Ngoc Chau, born in 1983, is the only original member still with May Trang. She once expressed sadness that the current lineup is not as well-received as before, attributing it to changes in the entertainment market. However, Ngoc Chau strives to maintain the group due to her passion. She enjoys singing but lacks confidence in solo performances, feeling her age. Keeping the group allows her to perform on stage and earn an income to support her family.
After a broken marriage, Ngoc Chau became a single mother. A few years ago, she mentioned being cautious about dating, wishing only for a peaceful life with her son and focusing on raising him.

In 2012, she moved to the United States with her husband, withdrawing from May Trang and largely stepping away from artistic activities to focus on her family. After four years, her marriage ended, and Thu Ngoc returned to Vietnam. However, she did not resume her singing career, feeling she no longer fit the entertainment market.
In 2024, the singer garnered attention by appearing on the show 'Chi dep dap gio', marking her return after 11 years of not singing. She stated her desire to rediscover the feeling of performing on stage with May Trang, hoping old fans would remember her and to reach a younger audience.
After experiencing emotional turmoil, Thu Ngoc stated she enjoys her single life, embracing everything as destiny.
