The Writer's Association Publishing House announced on 24/7 that it has halted the publication and promotion of three works by author Tran Thanh Canh. This decision comes as the content requires re-evaluation.
In late July, Nguyen Thi Thu Uyen, deputy director of the publishing house, confirmed that the publication "Truyen su Tran" was specifically halted at the request of the Department of Publication, Printing and Distribution. This particular work was a collaboration between the Writer's Association Publishing House and Vietnam Book and Media Co., Ltd., scheduled for release in late 2024.
As part of this directive, the collaborating publishing units must immediately cease all promotional activities. This includes introductions, advertisements, livestreams, posting information, images, and content excerpts, as well as any other promotional efforts on websites, e-commerce platforms, social networks, and various media channels. These activities are suspended until the Writer's Association Publishing House issues further notice. Additionally, the book companies are required to review and inventory the number of publications currently in stock and those already distributed, then compile and submit a report to the publishing house.
The three affected publications are: the novel "Duc Thanh Tran - Vo nghiep lay lung, tinh yeu bat diet," published in 2017 in collaboration with Thai Ha Books; the book series "Hung khi Dong A - Tran Thu Do, Tran Quoc Tuan, Tran Nguyen Han," published in 2022 in collaboration with BestBooks Vietnam; and one publication from this series, developed in collaboration with Vietnam Book and Media Co., Ltd., and slated for launch in late 2024.
