Many fans praised the action design, noting how it effectively conveyed the story's intense and fast-paced situations. Thousands commented that it had been a long time since they witnessed such "authentic wuxia" in a television series. However, some viewers criticized the overuse of slow-motion and special effects, which they felt made the confrontations appear unnatural.
