The patients reported having eaten at a funeral feast in My Xuyen neighborhood on the afternoon of 19/7. The menu included jellyfish salad, shrimp, steamed squid, grilled chicken, grouper hotpot, and yogurt. Approximately 50 people attended the feast. This morning, they began experiencing symptoms such as fever, stomach cramps, diarrhea, and vomiting, prompting them to seek medical attention. Among them, an 84-year-old woman suffered septic shock.
Anticipating a potential increase in the number of patients, the Hue City Department of Health coordinated with Hue Central Hospital's second facility to prepare a treatment and admission plan.
