Nutrition is a key factor in maintaining health. Beyond common food groups, natural ingredients are also highly valued for their nutritional content and potential applications. According to Japan Times, brown seaweed is a prime example, used in many traditional dishes by the Japanese and in other countries. Among these, mozuku and mekabu attract attention due to their natural fucoidan content.

A representative from Umi No Shizuku stated that fucoidan belongs to the polysaccharide group, possessing a complex structure and containing fucose sugar residues. This compound is present in the slimy layer of some brown seaweed species, helping to protect the seaweed from the harsh marine environment.
Many researchers investigate the biological properties of fucoidan, particularly its antioxidant activity. However, laboratory results do not directly translate to efficacy when used in humans. Fucoidan's potential for health must be evaluated based on scientific evidence, considering the raw material type, extraction method, and specific characteristics of each product.
Currently, fucoidan from brown seaweed is applied in some health protection foods (health supplements). Products undergo extraction, processing, and quality control to meet requirements for ingredient composition and product stability.

According to Umi No Shizuku, the manufacturer combines fucoidan extracted from mozuku and mekabu brown seaweeds with refined agaricus mushroom powder. The product is researched, manufactured, and packaged in Japan, and officially distributed in Vietnam by Umi No Shizuku Co., Ltd.
The product is available in three forms: capsules, powder, and liquid. Before purchasing, consumers should carefully check the label, ingredients, dosage, usage instructions, and specific information for each type to meet individual needs.
However, supplementing nutrients from brown seaweed or other sources should be considered within a comprehensive approach of a diverse diet and scientific lifestyle, rather than relying solely on a single food or product.
"Individuals currently taking medication or undergoing chemotherapy or radiation therapy must consult their treating physician before supplementing any product. Health protection foods (health supplements) do not replace prescription medication or medical treatment methods".

For proactive health care, people should maintain a balanced diet, get enough sleep, exercise regularly, and undergo periodic health check-ups.
"Nutrient supplements serve only a supportive role and must be appropriate for each person's health condition", the brand representative added.
