Female streamer dies suddenly on live broadcast after 10 minutes of headache complaints

A 39-year-old female streamer in Shanxi passed away during a live shopping broadcast, with acute hemorrhagic stroke suspected.

She was a social media personality known as "Sister Wang Zha", who had a stable following through her live streaming of women's fashion. Clips from the broadcast on 9/3 show her trying on and introducing clothes when she suddenly complained of headache and neck pain, repeatedly saying "I feel unwell". The streamer briefly left the frame to rest, and her assistant massaged her, hoping to alleviate the discomfort.

When she returned to the camera, her complexion worsened, her expression became increasingly pained, and she repeatedly touched the back of her neck. Realizing she couldn't stand, she shouted: "Quickly call 120 (China's emergency number), I'm about to collapse!" Medical personnel arrived at the scene, but she did not survive. The streamer's funeral took place on the morning of 11/3, with the cause of death identified as a possible stroke.

According to *Jimu News*, friends stated that "Sister Wang Zha" was generally in good health. However, she often stayed up late, slept little, and worked intensely to maintain her following. She had previously complained of headaches before the Lunar New Year. Footage of her final moments broadcast live drew significant attention on the country's social media. Viewers expressed sorrow and warned each other about the risks of burnout in the digital content creation industry.

Providing a medical analysis of the incident, Doctor Chen Long, Director of the Taiwan Stroke Association, explained that hemorrhagic stroke occurs when blood vessels in the brain rupture due to high blood pressure, ruptured aneurysms, or subarachnoid hemorrhage. The resulting blood clot immediately compresses surrounding brain tissue, increasing intracranial pressure, leading to coma and death. Approximately 40-50% of patients die before reaching the hospital due to cardiac arrest. The mortality rate can be as high as 60% if brainstem hemorrhage occurs.

The expert stated that smoking is the biggest risk factor for stroke, making the incidence rate two to three times higher in smokers. Tobacco contains numerous chemicals, among which nicotine stimulates the sympathetic nervous system, accelerating heart rate, increasing blood pressure, and raising blood viscosity. Meanwhile, tar affects oxygen and blood circulation to the brain, increasing the risk of hemorrhage and cerebral infarction.

Beyond unhealthy lifestyle habits, individuals with "three highs" underlying conditions (high blood pressure, high blood lipids, high blood sugar) or a family history of stroke are all in high-risk groups. Clinical practice shows that up to 50% of patients have experienced silent strokes without clear symptoms.

For prevention, Doctor Chen Long recommends that individuals over 50 years old undergo at least one brain MRI scan. This method provides a comprehensive examination of brain tissue structure and the intracranial vascular system, allowing for early detection of potential lesions such as: brain tumors, vascular malformations, or silent stroke foci. For example, if an aneurysm larger than 5 mm is detected, doctors can intervene early or monitor closely to prevent the risk of vascular rupture leading to sudden death.
