On 10/3, the Quan Su facility inaugurated these two radiotherapy systems and nearly 100 modern medical devices. This expansion increases the hospital's total radiotherapy machines across all three facilities to 10 systems, meeting the healthcare needs of over 1,000 cancer patients daily.

Professor Doctor Le Van Quang, Director of K Hospital, stated that the facilities receive a large number of patients daily, requiring older machinery to operate continuously for 22-23 hours. The two new accelerator radiotherapy systems integrate modern technology, enabling medical staff to deploy advanced techniques like 3D, IMRT, VMAT, and radiosurgery. These machines achieve a dose rate of 1,500-2,200 MU per minute and can control tumor movement with respiration. Director Quang emphasized that this equipment helps medical professionals focus maximum radiation on tumors, protecting surrounding healthy organs and ensuring precise, safe radiotherapy.
The hospital also introduced several new diagnostic and treatment systems, including: 8 endoscopy systems, over 30 laboratory devices, MRI machines, vacuum-assisted breast biopsy machines, and radiofrequency ablation equipment. This medical facility invested in the equipment using 790 billion VND from the state budget and 300 billion VND in non-refundable aid from the Japanese Government.
Deputy Minister of Health Vu Manh Ha attended the event, commending K Hospital's advancements in technical application. He urged the facility to maximize its new machinery's functionality to enhance healthcare quality and bolster training for regional medical centers.
Statistics indicate that Viet Nam records approximately 182,600 new cancer cases and 122,700 deaths from cancer annually. K Hospital alone currently manages over 500,000 patient visits each year, placing significant pressure on its existing healthcare infrastructure.
