Man dies after bee attack

A 51-year-old man in Anh Son commune died after being attacked by bees while cutting grass by the Lam River.

On the morning of 9/9, the man went to the riverbank to cut grass to feed his fish. When he didn't return by midday, his family searched and found him unconscious by the river, covered in bee stings.

The area was densely vegetated, and a beehive was found near the victim, though the species of bee is unknown. Locals chased the bees away and rushed the man to a medical center, but he died from his injuries.

Doctors advise that if stung by a bee, individuals should calmly administer first aid and immediately seek medical attention to avoid serious consequences. People should avoid disturbing beehives and remain still if bees approach. Regularly clearing bushes and vegetation around homes is also recommended as a preventative measure.

Two days prior, a 35-year-old woman in Khanh Lam commune, Ca Mau Province, and a 5-year-old boy in Gia Lai also died after being stung multiple times by wasps. Four other children are currently receiving treatment for bee stings.
