On 13/10, a representative from Thanh Vu Medic Bac Lieu General Hospital announced that the patient had experienced nasal congestion for over 10 years due to nasal polyps on both sides and chronic polysinusitis. This condition led to difficulty breathing, forcing him to breathe through his mouth. Furthermore, doctors identified a suspected lesion in the right nasal sinus area, which necessitated a pathology test to determine its nature.

To address the man's condition, doctors performed endoscopic surgery to remove nasal polyps and opened both sinuses. This procedure aimed to remove lesions causing blockage, improve ventilation, and facilitate sinus drainage. During the surgery, doctors collected tissue samples from the suspicious lesion for a pathology test.
Just two days after the operation, the patient reported significant improvement. He could sleep lying down and breathe normally through his nose, eliminating the need to elevate his head or sleep in a sitting position.
Doctor Nguyen Hong Tru, Deputy Head of the Surgery - Inter-specialty Department, cautioned against underestimating persistent nasal congestion. He explained that such a condition could indicate underlying conditions like nasal polyps, chronic sinusitis, or other sinonasal lesions. Doctor Tru advised individuals experiencing frequent nasal congestion, mouth breathing, difficulty sleeping, headaches, or persistent phlegm to seek medical evaluation promptly. Early diagnosis and suitable treatment are crucial.
