MRI 3.0T results, integrated with artificial intelligence, revealed that the multiple uterine fibroids had degenerated, adhering to the anterior border of the lumbosacral spine and the right iliac vascular bundle. This condition posed significant risks due to the large tumor compressing vital organs and blood vessels.
The doctors performed a total hysterectomy with bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy, removing the tumor weighing over 2 kg. A sample was sent for histopathological examination to determine if it was benign or malignant.
Currently, the patient is conscious, vital signs are stable, mucous membranes are pink, and blood pressure is normal. She may be discharged in the next few days.
Dr. CKI Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy, Deputy Director of Thanh Vu Medic Bac Lieu General Hospital, advises women to undergo regular gynecological examinations for early detection of diseases. If abnormal symptoms such as lower abdominal pain, rapid abdominal enlargement, or menstrual irregularities occur, it is crucial to seek timely medical examination and treatment to prevent tumors from growing large and causing complications.
