On 18/7, Nguyet, a resident of Bac Hong Linh ward, was arrested and charged with fraud by Ha Tinh provincial police under Article 174 of the penal code.

The investigation revealed that in 2020, Nguyet worked as a real estate broker. After suffering significant losses, she became heavily indebted. To repay her creditors, Nguyet fabricated a story about having identified prime land plots but lacking the funds for a down payment.

She then approached friends and family, urging them to invest with promises of substantial returns in a short period. Between December 2024 and April 2025, 11 people in Ha Tinh gave Nguyet nearly 18 billion dong, hoping for a quick profit.

After obtaining the money, Nguyet used it to settle her debts and for personal expenses. Following complaints from the victims, she was apprehended in mid-July.
