Dong Nai police detained Ut on 20/8 for alleged property destruction.

Investigations revealed that three days prior, three men from Phuoc An commune rode their motorbikes to a pier near Ut's house in Hamlet 2 before heading to a shrimp farm 2 km away.

Ut returned home after drinking that afternoon and rested in a hammock near the pier. Spotting the three motorbikes in a vacant lot, he decided to set them on fire. After checking that no one was around, he siphoned gasoline from one of the motorbikes, lit it, and walked home.

Later that day, the motorbike owners returned from the shrimp farm to find their vehicles destroyed and reported the incident to the police. Phuoc An commune police identified Ut as a suspect and brought him in for questioning. Ut confessed to the act, claiming he burned the motorbikes to "relieve stress".
