According to the investigation, from 2021 to 2022, Nhung directed the defendants to use information from 60 health insurance cards belonging to their relatives. They created fraudulent patient records and issued 3,539 fake prescriptions.
Through this scheme, the defendants misappropriated health insurance medications totaling over 614 million VND. The group then divided the drugs among themselves, selling them on the market, using them personally, or exchanging them for nutritional supplements for their relatives. Only a small portion was returned to the individuals whose health insurance card information had been used to create the fraudulent records.
The investigation agency is currently clarifying the actions of other involved individuals.
