Two people died and two others were seriously injured in a knife attack at a rental room complex on Ho Van Tang Street, Cu Chi commune, on the afternoon of 24/9.
Local residents, hearing shouts, rushed to the scene and saw a young man, about 25 years old, leaving the complex with a knife. Inside, two individuals were found deceased, while two others were wounded and immediately taken to the emergency room.
According to Na, a resident living nearby, the 25-year-old man sought out the rental rooms where his estranged wife was residing. The couple was reportedly separated.
A dispute and argument ensued between the two parties. The man then used a knife to attack those inside the room.
After leaving the scene, the suspect fled towards Tay Ninh. Cu Chi Commune Police, in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh City Police Criminal Investigation Department (PC02) and other relevant units, promptly tracked down and apprehended the individual.
Police are currently investigating the cause of the incident. Initial information suggests the event is linked to a marital dispute.
