On 1/4, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Ngoc Lam, Vice Minister of Public Security, presented the decision from the Minister of Public Security regarding the transfer and appointment of Major General Duong Duc Hai.

Hai's predecessor, Lieutenant General Nguyen Tuan Anh, will retire.

Speaking at the appointment ceremony, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Ngoc Lam stated that the new director has held many key leadership and command positions within the Hanoi Police. In every role, General Hai fostered internal unity and made outstanding contributions.

Hai, 49, from Phuc Tho commune, began his career as an area police officer at Dong Nhan ward police, Hai Ba Trung district (former). He later served as head of police for Quynh Mai and Ngo Thi Nham wards (former).

In 5/2013, he became deputy head of Thanh Xuan District Police (former). In 10/2018, following a departmental merger, he took on the role of head of the traffic police department. From 7/2022 until now, he has served as deputy director of Hanoi Police.

Recently, General Hai was elected to the 16th National Assembly. He also chairs the Hanoi Police Football Club.
