On 15/7, Danang police initiated legal proceedings against seven managers and staff members of the Danang International General Clinic at 180 Tran Phu Street. The charges relate to defrauding customers under Article 198, Clause 2 of the penal code. Four individuals have been detained, and three are under house arrest.
Operating under the Danang International General Hospital Joint Stock Company, the clinic advertised treatment for men's and women's health issues, sexually transmitted infections, and abortions. However, it concealed an elaborate illegal medical practice scheme involving numerous unqualified "fake doctors." Some staff, lacking even a high school diploma, were tasked with consultations, examinations, and prescribing treatments.

The clinic had a hidden passage to the basement for the "fake doctors" to escape during inspections. Licensed doctors were then presented as substitutes, despite rarely being on-site.
This tactic allowed the clinic to repeatedly deceive authorities and continue operating illegally in the city center, according to the police.
Investigators also uncovered fabricated diagnoses and inflated service charges. Initial consultations were quoted between 199,000 and one million VND, but post-procedure bills ranged from 10 to 50 million VND. Staff often used pain-inducing techniques and threats of severe complications to coerce patients into expensive treatment packages costing 5 to 30 million VND.
Preliminary investigations indicate the clinic illegally profited nearly 376 million VND from 17 victims.
The investigation is ongoing. Danang Police urge anyone affected by the Danang International General Clinic to report to Team 4 – Office of the Investigative Police (47 Ly Tu Trong Street, Hai Chau Ward, Danang City), contacting investigator Tran Cong Anh or the duty officer for guidance.
