On 31/1, Dong Nai police expanded their investigation into a series of gas refilling facilities of unknown origin, suspected of producing and trading counterfeit goods.

Two days prior, hundreds of detectives from the Economic Police Department, in coordination with the Mobile Police Department, simultaneously inspected and searched 10 large-scale gas refilling sites across the southeastern region.

Authorities seized 14 various trucks (including 5 tanker trucks), nearly 4,000 gas cylinders of 12 kg and 45 kg (over 2,000 of which already contained gas with various brand labels printed on them). Additionally, 3 gas tanks, 6 boxes of gas stamps and labels, 6 heat guns, and numerous tools and equipment for gas refilling were confiscated.

Initially, police identified 16 individuals involved. The group had rented these facilities to produce counterfeit gas using the labels of large, reputable brands.
