Two nights ago, Tuan, 37, was inside his house when neighborhood children rushed in to report that his daughter's earrings had been stolen by a stranger. Rushing to the alley in front of his home, he found his daughter crying, her ear scratched and bleeding. The gold earrings, valued at nearly one million dong, were gone. The child tearfully recounted that a young woman had approached her and removed them.
Security camera footage showed that as Tuan's daughter was playing with other children, a young woman riding an electric bicycle, accompanied by a girl about 13 years old, approached them. Both individuals were wearing face masks.
The woman looked around, dismounted her bicycle, and made a gesture as if checking a tire. Immediately after, she approached Tuan's daughter, snatched the earrings in 10 seconds, and hastily rode away.
