Former bank director arrested for defrauding multiple clients

Do Nhu Truong is accused of providing false information to customers while serving as a bank branch director in Mong Cai, appropriating billions of VND.

Quang Ninh provincial police announced on 13/1 that they had temporarily detained Truong, 41 years old, residing in Mong Cai 2 ward, for the crime of "fraudulent appropriation of property" under clause 4, article 174 of the Penal Code.

According to investigators, from 1/2025 to 12/2025, Truong abused his position and authority to provide false information related to various customers' maturing bank loans. He gained their trust and instructed them to transfer money to him.

Truong is accused of appropriating billions of VND from numerous victims in Mong Cai 1 and Mong Cai 2 wards for personal use.

Quang Ninh provincial police are coordinating with the Procuracy to clarify the suspect's criminal acts and expand the investigation.
