On 7/5, the Tay Ninh Provincial Police announced the temporary detention of Oanh, 47, and Ho Tu Phung, 45, both residing in TP HCM. Duong Hoang Hieu, 57, from Rach Kien commune, Tay Ninh, was prohibited from leaving his residence. The three are under investigation for producing and trading counterfeit food additives.

Previously, on 30/1, dozens of detectives from the provincial Economic Police Department, in coordination with the Long Cang communal police, raided a rental house in Ap 12. Authorities discovered and seized over 3 tons of counterfeit MSG and seasoning of popular brands, along with more than 5,000 unused packages and a heat-sealing machine.

Oanh's group admitted to producing fake MSG and seasoning, then selling them to stores, grocery shops, and business households within the province and surrounding areas to make a profit.

The investigation into the case is expanding.
