Son's 'wheelie' leads to 9 million VND fine for mother

Police seized a motorcycle after a 15-year-old performed a 'wheelie', resulting in a 9 million VND fine for his mother.

On 6/5, the Traffic Police Department (Quang Ngai Provincial Police) reported issuing a citation to a 15-year-old teenager from Dong Son commune. The teenager was cited for multiple traffic violations: riding a motorcycle without a helmet, operating the vehicle on one wheel, and driving underage.

The teenager's mother, as the registered owner of the motorcycle, also received a fine. She was cited for allowing an unqualified person to operate the vehicle.

The incident came to the attention of authorities after citizens sent images and videos via Zalo to the head of the Traffic Police Department. These materials depicted the 15-year-old driving a motorcycle on one wheel while carrying a passenger.

Upon receiving the information, the department quickly verified the details. They then summoned the teenager and his mother for questioning. At the police station, the teenager admitted to the violations.

Police highlighted the serious danger of operating a vehicle on one wheel. Such actions can easily cause accidents, endangering both the driver and other road users.

Residents are encouraged to report traffic violations through official channels. This allows for timely enforcement and contributes to maintaining traffic order and safety for everyone.
