Following a request from Ho Chi Minh City police yesterday, Lam Dong province's traffic police launched a search for the suspects. Later that evening, they located Hao, Duy, and Nghia in Tuy Phong district (formerly Binh Thuan). Shortly after midnight, traffic police, in coordination with local authorities in Lien Huong commune, apprehended the three men at a motel.
The specific actions of the three men have not yet been released.
A video circulating on social media showed two teenagers being assaulted by a man, identified as Hao, in the parking area of an internet cafe on To Ky street, Tan Thoi Hiep ward.
In the video, Hao, wearing a red shirt, repeatedly strikes the 12 and 13-year-old boys with a plastic bin lid, a dustpan, a helmet, his hands, and his feet. Even after the victims fell to the ground, he continued to kick them in the face.
Hao’s actions sparked public outrage. Ho Chi Minh City police, investigating the incident, confirmed it occurred on 23/3 and, after learning the cafe owner was in Lam Dong, requested assistance from authorities there.
