Nguyen Minh Nhan, 21, was temporarily detained by An Giang Provincial Police on 26/9 for resisting public officials. The arrest follows an incident on 10/9 where Nhan crashed into Major Tran Ngoc Nam, a traffic police officer, while attempting to evade a stop signal.

According to the investigation, on the afternoon of 10/9, Major Tran Ngoc Nam and a task force were patrolling National Highway 63, through An Binh hamlet, Binh An commune. They spotted Nhan riding a motorbike without a helmet and signaled him to stop. Nhan ignored the signal, accelerated, and crashed directly into Major Nam.

Both Nhan and Major Nam were injured and taken to Kien Giang General Hospital for emergency treatment. After his health stabilized, Nhan was summoned for questioning. Police determined that Nhan did not possess a driver's license, had consumed alcohol, and tested positive for drugs.

At the investigative agency, Nhan admitted to his actions.
