Man arrested for stealing lottery tickets from a disabled person

Nguyen Trieu Tien, disguised as a ride-hailing driver, pretended to buy lottery tickets from a disabled man before snatching them and speeding off.

On 22/7, 24-year-old Tien was arrested in Ho Chi Minh City on suspicion of robbery.

Two nights prior, Tien rode his motorcycle to Cau Xay Street in Tang Nhon Phu Ward (formerly Thu Duc City) and approached a disabled man selling lottery tickets on the roadside. The area was deserted.

With his motorcycle engine running, Tien asked to buy tickets and took a stack to choose from. After a brief conversation, he suddenly sped off with the tickets. The stunned man could only stammer and try to follow, but to no avail.

The incident was captured by a nearby security camera. The video quickly spread on social media, sparking outrage at the thief's actions.

The Criminal Police Department and Tang Nhon Phu Ward police identified Tien as the suspect and arrested him.
