On 24/7, the Ha Tinh Provincial Police Investigation Agency initiated criminal proceedings against and arrested Trinh Huu Thang (Vinh Hung ward, Nghe An province) on charges of intentionally causing injury or harming another person's health, under Article 134 of the penal code.

On the afternoon of 22/6, Thang's wife was sitting alone at a table in a bar in Nghi Xuan commune when a 30-year-old customer began harassing her. Thang confronted the man.

As Thang was leaving to go to his car, the 30-year-old man followed, challenged him, and attacked him. During the ensuing altercation, the man who harassed Thang's wife fell and sustained an injury to the back of his head. He died on 23/6.
