On the afternoon of 6/1, Long Xuyen Ward Police announced the arrest of Le Binh Yen, 36, a drug addict with a prior conviction for property theft.

Earlier, in the early morning of 1/1, Yen noticed a house in Dong Thinh 8 hamlet with its exterior door locked. He used bolt cutters to break in, then rummaged through the house, stealing over 10 taels of 9999 gold, a wristwatch, and 40 million dong in cash before fleeing.

Following the victim's report, police launched an investigation, identified Yen as the suspect, and brought him to the station for questioning. A search of Yen's vehicle and residence by authorities uncovered numerous related assets and items.
