Man beats daughter and pregnant wife 'like medieval times'

Phan Van Minh, described as 'thuggish', allegedly repeatedly beat his pregnant wife and tied up his daughter, leaving her severely bruised.

Bac Ninh Provincial Police announced on 3/3 that Phan Van Minh, 32, from Xuan Dong residential group, Tan Tien ward, has been prosecuted and temporarily detained. He faces charges of abusing or tormenting his wife and children.

Minh confessed to police that he assaulted his 13-year-old daughter and 32-year-old pregnant wife 4 times between 19/2 and 22/2. Authorities described Minh as "thuggish", stating he would beat and torment his family "like medieval times" whenever they acted against his wishes.

The latest reported incident occurred on 24/2, when Minh allegedly tied up his daughter and assaulted her with his hands, feet, and a broom, leaving her with numerous injuries and bruises. Local police were alerted to the incident on the same day.
