Le Van Tuan, 32, from Dong Bua hamlet, Ha Dong commune, was temporarily detained on 30/3 for investigation into murder. This development followed his confession to killing his 87-year-old relative, Ms. Le, and burying her body within the premises of her home. The Ha Dong commune People's Committee confirmed the arrest.

The investigation began after Ha Dong Commune Police received a report late on 29/3 concerning the disappearance of Ms. Le, 87. Her family and local security forces had conducted extensive searches without success. Police immediately arrived at the scene. A swift inspection revealed unusual circumstances at the victim's house, leading authorities to suspect criminal activity.

Police identified Le Van Tuan, a neighbor and a relative of the victim, as a suspect. He was summoned for questioning. After more than two hours, at approximately 0:30 on 30/3, Tuan confessed to the crime.

Tuan stated that around 6 h on 29/3, he had crossed through the garden to Ms. Le's house. When she discovered him and called out, he panicked. He then used a hard object to attack her, causing her to die at the scene. To conceal his actions, Tuan subsequently dug a hole and buried the victim's body in her garden.

Hai Phong City Police are continuing their investigation to determine Tuan's full motive.
