On the afternoon of 7/8, a 44-year-old man from An Giang province arrived at a rented room in Binh Duong ward (formerly Phu Tan ward, Thu Dau Mot city) to speak with his wife. An argument ensued.

The man drew a concealed knife and repeatedly attacked his wife, causing her to collapse. Their 20-year-old daughter attempted to intervene but was injured on her hand. The man then used the knife to commit suicide.

Hearing cries for help, neighbors rushed the three to the hospital. However, both the husband and wife were pronounced dead. Their daughter survived with a hand injury.

According to the daughter, her parents had separated, and she and her mother had moved out.
