Electric fishing is a method of aquatic exploitation strictly prohibited by law. It causes severe depletion of aquatic resources, impacts ecosystems, and poses safety risks for users.
According to his testimony, since early 2025, Phuong used multiple social media accounts to livestream, post promotional videos, and find buyers. Phuong acquired these devices from various local individuals, then hired workers to package them for resale to those seeking them for aquatic harvesting.
Phuong stated he sold an average of 40-50 units per month, releasing approximately 680 units onto the market in total.
Authorities are continuing to clarify the supply source of the equipment and consolidate the case file for legal processing.
