According to the investigation, Toan and May's group recently approached two young women and a 14-year-old girl. They lured the victims abroad with promises of "easy work with high pay," offering to cover all costs and arrange accommodation.
Authorities allege that after crossing the border, May and Toan colluded with a group of foreign individuals. They then sold the three victims as wives to families seeking them.
Between 25/6 and 13/7, the Criminal Police Department of Nghe An Provincial Police, in coordination with specialized units of the Ministry of Public Security, arrested six suspects. All three victims have since been rescued.
The case is currently under expanded investigation.
