An Giang police arrested Thanh on 28/7 on suspicion of robbery.

According to investigators, on the afternoon of 26/7, Thanh rode a motorbike to the Ba Thang gold shop in Nhon My commune. He asked the owner to see two bracelets weighing 1.2 and 1.5 chi, respectively. After trying them on, he returned the 1.5 chi bracelet and told the owner he needed to get money from his motorbike. He then unexpectedly sped off. The shop owner chased him but couldn't catch up.

Thanh sold the stolen bracelet for 7 million VND at a nearby shop. He used the money to pay off debts and for personal expenses. Later that afternoon, Thanh was apprehended by the police and confessed to the crime.
