Upon receiving reports, Kien Thuy Commune Police investigated and summoned the 32-year-old man for questioning. At the police station, he admitted to picking up a rock by the roadside, cycling to the middle of the overpass, and then dropping it onto the expressway. A quick test showed he was negative for illicit drugs and had no prior criminal record. However, relatives and neighbors reported that the man has shown signs of depression since early 2020.
Throwing rocks at cars traveling at high speeds on an expressway poses a serious risk, potentially causing drivers to lose control and leading to catastrophic accidents for road users.
Kien Thuy Commune Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
